The latest Fender Custom Shop Tyler Bryant Shell Pink Stratocaster is based on Bryant’s own 1960s style Shell Pink Strat, named “Pinky”. But is it really worth over $5 for an HSS Strat?

This Fender Custom Shop Tyler Bryant Shell Pink Stratocaster is officially listed at $5,750 and I really cannot see how it is worth anywhere near that amount of money. There will be 60 made worldwide for this limited run. That makes it around $345,000 of sales, assuming they sell for the full MSRP.
Basic Construction
The main construction is based around a 2-piece select alder body and a ’60s Oval “C” maple neck. Plus, it has a 9.5″ radius and a 25.5″ flat laminated rosewood fretboard with 21 Narrow Tall frets and a set of Micarta White Dot inlays.
It comes in a classic Shell Pink nitro finish, that has been aged and has an engraved aluminium anodised pickguard.
Pickups
Pickups are a set of a Custom Shop Hand-Wound ’60s Single-Coil Strat pickup in the neck, a Custom Shop Hand-Wound RWRP ’60s Single-Coil Strat in the middle and a “Shawbucker” humbucker at the bridge. These are wired by a pair of tone knobs, a master volume knob and a five-way blade pickup switch.
Hardware
The hardware consists of a Custom Shop vintage synchronized tremolo, plus a set of vintage-style tuning machines with the Fender logo.
Nothing particularly special here then really. It looks like a nice guitar, but really I cannot see how it is worth over $5k. Am I being mean and moody? What do you think of it?

Jesus christ….I’d be embarrassed if I was TB. $5700 for a guitar. It’s a pure money grab, and I’m ashamed of TB for going along with it.
Sorry, but I came up with Jimmy Herring and Scott Henderson. What those guys did with an off the shelf strat for the 60’s is legendary.
