Digitech Bad Monkey is back in production! Or is it?

Pedal Pawn and Josh Scott confirm the Digitech Bad Monkey is back in production. Except Tom Cram has stated Josh is mistaken.

The Digitech Bad Monkey is already back in production. The news was confirmed by Josh Scott, who stated that Tom Cram and his team were reissuing the budget green overdrive pedal.

The Bad Monkey is Back!

After last week’s insanity with used Digitech Bad Monkey overdrive pedals prices soaring. All due to Josh Scott comparing them to the Klon Centaur.

Now, the YouTube channel Pedal Pawn has released a video with Josh, and he states that Digitech is already reissuing the budget green overdrive pedals. Tom Cram and his team were already working on the re-release and so we should see the popular Bad Monkey available for sale very soon.

The only fly in the ointment is that Tom Cram himself has already stated that Josh is mistaken.

Sorry, Josh is mistaken. Well, kind of. We will likely do an update of the Bad Monkey at some point, but not anytime soon. The timing of this video has nothing to do with what we are doing. -Tom Cram

Reissues

In fact, the Digitech team has been gradually re-releasing all the classic pedals of late. The most recent one is the DOD Envelope Filter 440. And only last month we saw the reintroduction of their DOD Overdrive Preamp 250.

New Monkey?

It looks like we will see a new Bad Monkey sometime in the future, just not immediately. Time to watch all those ridiculous Reverb Store prices tumble. As I can see the Bad Monkey bubble bursting very soon.

This just goes to show. as Public Enemy once said “Don’t Believe the Hype!”
