The Ampeg SGT-DI puts all the core things a bass player needs into one compact pedal. Offering a preamp, DI, compression and Impulse Responses in one unit. Could this be the perfect compact bass rig?
Ampeg SGT-DI
Ampeg’s SGT-DI is jam-packed with loads of great features for bass players and it offers some classic Ampeg amp tones. The compact pedal format is well laid out and has all you should need to play live and work in the studio. Everything is clearly labelled and the switches are protected by a metal bar, which keeps them away from your feet.
Super Grit Technology
The Super Grit Technology overdrive circuit offers both Ampeg SVT and B15 voices. Allowing you to drive the preamp and get some growl when you need it. Basic controls consist of Vol/Comp, Bass, Mid/Freq and Treble, along with a dedicated one for that Grit/Level.
A 3-Band EQ with a sweepable Mid circuit offers plenty of ways to get great bass tones. And there is an Ultra-Hi switch and a three-way Ultra-Lo switch, for fine-tuning the tone.
Finally, a variable 10:1 compressor section. Perfect for getting a solid consistent bass tone.
Impulse Responses
The IR Loader/Cab Simulator section is a great addition as well and makes the pedal great for many applications.
- Cab Mode: Ampeg Heritage B-15, Heritage SVT-410HLF and SVT-810 Squareback IRs.
- User Mode: Ampeg SVT-112AV, SVT-210AV and SVT-212AV IRs all these are overwritable
It comes factory loaded with three classic factory cab emulations or users can use three cabs of their own by using the free Ampeg IR Loader application.
Inputs & Outputs
The connectivity includes a standard 1/4″ input and outputs, a Preamp Out and Line Out (also for use with headphones), plus an XLR Direct Out and a USB-C for IR Loading. Along with a Ground Lift and a Thru Out for the dry signal.
Looks like these will be popular at this price and there are loads of nice features here that will benefit working bass players.
