The new Fender Vintera II Series has leaked online with dealers releasing details early. The new range covers all the usual Stratocasters, Telecasters, Precision Basses, etc But they have added a few new interesting models including the 60s Bass VI. Plus, it also looks like rosewood is back, replacing the previous Pau Ferro fretboards of the original Mexican made Vintera models.
Fender Vintera II Series
A whole heap of new Fender Vintera II have leaked online ahead of their official launch. A number of Fender dealers across the globe have accidentally jumped the gun and released prices, specifications and images of the newly updated range of guitars and basses.
I’m guessing that these are still made in Mexico, so they will be mid-priced models offering basic vintage specifications. These specifications and colours will depend on which decade/era you choose, so expect various neck profiles and pickup specifications, etc
50s, 60s & 70s
Models included in the Vintera II series include the 50s Stratocaster, 60s Stratocaster, 70s Stratocaster, 50s Nocaster, 60s Telecaster, 50s Jazzmaster, 70s Jaguar, 70s Mustang, 60s Bass VI, 70s Telecaster Bass, 70s Mustang Bass, 60s Telecaster Thinline, 70s Telecaster Deluxe TREM, 50s Precision Bass, 60s Precision Bass and the 60s Jazz Bass.
Prices
Prices appear to start around €1199 and go as high as €1449 depending on the model. For example, the Bass VI will set you back €1449, whilst a 70s Mustang will come in at around €1199.
70s Vintera II
Rosewood fretboards have replaced the previous Pau Ferro fretboards of the original Vintera models, which will no doubt please a lot of people. As rosewood fretboards generally look a lot darker and are a far more traditional fretboard material for Fender guitars.
Yes, there are still maple fretboard models as well and some interesting ones at that. Including an great-looking Vintera II 70s Jaguar that has a maple fretboard with black block inlays.
When?
I would guess that the new Fender Vintera II range will be released pretty soon, so this summer would make sense.
Currently, Fender is all about advertising the new Limited Edition Tom DeLonge Stratocasters on the main site, which is due on 25 July 2023. Once that advertising campaign is completed we could see these new Vintera II models pop up.

I hope that Squier follow the trend and issue a Jaguar with maple board and black block inlays/binding
dang it I saw the competition mustang bass and got my hopes up for a comp mustang guitar just to see this time they aren’t making mustangs are they. Does only Fender Japan still care about mustangs???
They are making the comp mustang guitars too!
There is a Comp Mustang Guitar pictured in the first group…
This is exciting as I have always wanted a 72 Telebass .But that one doesn’t show on the Fender site as all the others now do.Is it really happening? Also the other frustrating thing is that they have not used the correct string through body bridge. That is part of the sound of the original (and the look).it is a shame that (if) they finally reissued this bass, they bothered to get everything else right except that.
NO PAU FERRO!!!!! YES!!!!
