Gamechanger Audio Unveils the PLUS Pedal II: A Next-Generation Sustain Machine Arriving This August
Gamechanger Audio announces the PLUS Pedal II, launching this August with a massive sound engine upgrade, automatic chord layering, and an XLR mic preamp.

Gamechanger Audio, the pioneering effects company known for pushing the boundaries of musical hardware, has officially announced the upcoming release of the PLUS Pedal II. Slated to begin shipping in August, this highly anticipated successor promises to completely redefine how musicians across all genres interact with sustain, layering, and ambient sound design.

Building upon the foundation of the original PLUS Pedal—which brought real piano-style sustain to guitars, synths, and melodic instruments—the PLUS Pedal II introduces a complete top-to-bottom overhaul.

Priced at $399/£359/€329, the updated unit features a completely redesigned sound engine, vastly expanded performance controls, and unprecedented studio-grade connectivity.

Inside the New Spectral Sampling Engine

At the absolute heart of the PLUS Pedal II is its state-of-the-art Spectral Sampling engine.

Moving far beyond the capabilities of a standard digital delay or basic sustainer, this new dual-resonance algorithm operates by capturing a micro-slice of your instrument’s signal in real time.

It dynamically analyzes and reproduces the true timbre, dynamics, and complex harmonics of the source audio.

Guitars, Synths & Beyond

Whether you feed it a clean electric guitar, a heavily distorted synthesizer, or an acoustic instrument, the resulting sustain layers retain their organic character without turning into digital mush.

“Park and Play” with Expanded Controls

Gamechanger Audio has focused heavily on workflow and performance layout for this second generation.

The most notable workflow upgrade is the Auto Layer Catch function. By switching to this mode, musicians can simply rest their foot on the responsive brass optical pedal and play freely.

Controls

The pedal intelligently listens to your performance, automatically catching and stacking new notes to build lush, evolving chords just like a real acoustic piano with infinite sustain.

To give players precise mastery over their soundscapes, the interface adds several key upgrades:

  • Layer Control Knob: Allows users to select anywhere from 1 to 10 distinct, clean audio layers, or push the dial to Infinity (∞), where older layers gracefully fold into newly captured ones indefinitely.

  • Resonance Control: A dedicated knob that injects upper and lower harmonics into active layers, introducing a rich sense of acoustic movement that interacts directly with your playing.

  • Circular Halo Display: A new visual feedback system that acts as a real-time monitor, displaying the volume levels of all active, stacked layers simultaneously.

Studio Connectivity & The Multi-Mode Footswitch

In a massive win for vocalists, woodwind players, and studio engineers, the PLUS Pedal II now natively features an XLR Input with a built-in analog microphone preamp.

Users can plug a mic straight into the pedal, dial in the input gain, and utilize a convenient Kill-Dry switch—making it seamlessly compatible with acoustic and semi-acoustic stage performances.

Furthermore, an innovative Switchable FX-Loop lets players instantly route external effects to three distinct positions relative to the sustain engine: Pre-Plus, Post-Plus, or Inside (which processes only the wet, sustained layer while leaving the dry signal untouched).

For those looking to maximize the pedal’s performance flexibility, the optional PLUS II Footswitch (€65 sold separately) unlocks three distinct new performance workflows:

  1. Wet Only: Completely cuts the dry signal, outputting only the ambient, sustained layers.

  2. Latch: Locks the pedal into an “always on” state, providing a perfect hands-free pairing for the Auto Layer Catching function.

  3. Hide: Temporarily mutes the dry signal only while the brass pedal is pressed, letting performers secretly feed new notes into the sustain engine without the audience hearing the initial attack.

With its powerhouse combination of cinematic atmosphere generation, wall-of-sound layering capabilities, and intuitive control layout, the PLUS Pedal II looks poised to become an essential tool for live performers, film scorers, and experimental sound designers alike.

Pre-orders are currently open directly on the Gamechanger Audio website, with shipping officially commencing this August.

Where To Buy
