Ibanez is set to make waves at NAMM 2024 with its latest additions to the AZ Premium series. This update not only introduces three stunning new finishes but also marks the return of an upgraded HSS configuration featuring Seymour Duncan pickups.
AZ Premium
The highlight of this release is the AZ24P1QM model, sporting a captivating Deep Ocean Blonde finish. It stands out with its HSS configuration, which includes premium Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups: a humbucker in the bridge position and two single coils in the middle and neck.
dyna-MIX9
This setup is paired with Ibanez’s dyna-MIX9 switching system and an Alter Switch, offering a versatile range of nine sound variations that blend humbucker and single-coil tones.
Quilted Maple
Beyond its electronics, the HSS AZ Premium boasts a solid basswood body with a visually striking quilted maple top. Its playability is enhanced by the AZ Oval C roasted maple neck and a 22-fret roasted maple fingerboard with jumbo stainless steel frets.
Additional features include a Gotoh T1502 tremolo bridge, Gotoh MG-T locking tuners, elegant mother-of-pearl dot, and Luminescent side dot inlays.
Ibanez doesn’t stop there. The 2024 lineup also includes the Twilight Blue Burst, Prussian Blue Metallic, and Dragon Eye Burst finish across the AZ Premium collection. Each model shares core specifications like a basswood body, with the ‘QM’ models showcasing a quilted maple top and 24 jumbo stainless steel frets.
Seven String
However, each variant has its unique characteristics. For instance, the Dragon Eye Burst model features an HSH configuration with DiMarzio Air Norton and The Tone Zone humbuckers, and a True Velvet single-coil, along with an ebony fingerboard. The HH-equipped AZ42P1 includes two Seymour Duncan Hyperion humbuckers and a rosewood fingerboard.
Lastly, the Twilight Blue Burst is a seven-string model with Hyperion 7 humbuckers and a rosewood fingerboard.
