Calling all Alice in Chains fans and grunge enthusiasts! G&L Guitars has just announced the highly anticipated return of the G&L Rampage, the S-style guitar made famous by guitarist Jerry Cantrell.
Rampage is Back!
The Rampage, known for its sharp design and powerful sound, was initially released in 1985.
However, after being discontinued in the early 1990s, the guitar has become a coveted collector’s item, primarily after Cantrell frequently used his signature “Blue Dress” Rampage on countless Alice in Chains recordings.
A Return Driven by Demand
G&L CEO David McLaren acknowledges the company’s past decision to discontinue the Rampage but admits it might have been a mistake. McLaren cites the enduring popularity of grunge music and Cantrell’s iconic instrument as key factors in the Rampage’s return.
“It soon became obvious that grunge was more than a passing trend,” McLaren says. “It was a musical revolution, and the absence of the Rampage left a void in the guitar world.”
The Next Era of Rampage
While there have been limited edition releases and Jerry Cantrell’s signature models in the past, fans have clamoured for a more general reissue. G&L is finally answering those calls and promises “the next era of the Rampage.”
