To mark its golden anniversary, DOD has unveiled the Overdrive Preamp LTD, a limited-edition pedal that pays homage to its iconic heritage.

A Nod to the Past

Limited to just 1,974 units – a direct reference to the year DOD was founded – this U.S.-made masterpiece is a must-have for collectors and tone enthusiasts alike. The original ODP250 catapulted DOD to fame, and this 50th-anniversary edition is a faithful recreation of that legendary circuit.

John Johnson and David O. DiFrancesco, the founders of DOD, could never have imagined the lasting impact they would have on the world of guitar pedals.

Modern Twists on Classic Tone

While the core of the ODP250’s classic “Silicon” mode remains intact, the 50th-anniversary edition introduces two additional modes:

  • Ge/ASYM: This mode employs a germanium diode for asymmetric clipping, delivering a vintage-inspired drive tone.
  • Lift: By removing diode clipping, this mode unleashes the full potential of the classic LM741 chip, offering a clean boost or subtle overdrive.

A Collector’s Dream

Each numbered pedal has a certificate of authenticity, a laser-engraved commemorative emblem, and a collection of guitar picks and stickers. The simple, true-bypass design and the iconic DOD tone make the Overdrive Preamp LTD a timeless addition to any pedalboard.

DOD has left an enduring legacy, from its humble beginnings in Salt Lake City to its global impact. This limited-edition pedal is a testament to that legacy and celebrating 50 years of innovation.
