Behringer has just rebranded their Centaur Overdrive, and it is now the Centara Overdrive. It appears to follow the lawsuit, filed in Massachusetts federal court, that accused Music Tribe of “wilful trademark counterfeiting, trademark and trade dress infringement, false designation of origin, passing off, and unfair competition.”
Centara Overdrive
Following the news of Klon taking legal action against Behringer. Uli’s company has rebranded the pedal, and it is now called the Centara Overdrive, with a new graphic that has an adjusted centaur-like figure that now wields a spear.
It also clearly says Behringer on the front of the pedal now, whereas the previous version did not.
Klon LLC
Klon LLC argued that Behringer’s previous version was “far beyond the line of permissible inspiration versus unlawful copying.”
The core of Klon’s complaint centered on Behringer’s alleged deliberate replication of the Centaur’s distinctive aesthetic and branding.
