BluGuitar Accuses Blackstar of Design Theft in Amp Showdown

BluGuitar founder Thomas Blug has sparked controversy, accusing Blackstar Amps of copying their Amp1 design in the new Amped 1 unit. While both companies offer guitar amps with similar names, the real heat lies in Blug’s claim that Blackstar went beyond mere coincidence.

In a YouTube live stream on The Tone Lounge Podcast, Blug compared the disassembled internals of both amps, highlighting a striking resemblance in critical components.

Specifically, Blug pointed to custom-designed transformers and other elements within the power supply that he believes Blackstar directly copied.
