EarthQuaker Devices has reissued their popular Dirt Transmitter fuzz pedal in a limited edition of 1000 units. Initially created as the third in a very long line of EarthQuaker Devices fuzz pedals, this early circuit became regarded as one of Jamie Stillman’s best and most interesting fuzz creations.
Dirt Transmitter
The EQD Dirt Transmitter’s unique sound is powered by rare silicon transistors, providing a gritty, high-gain character that sets it apart from traditional germanium-based fuzz pedals.
This combination delivers a biting edge with a rounded tone that avoids excessive high-end distortion. Whether you prefer a heavy, sustained fuzz or a more subtle overdrive, the Dirt Transmitter’s versatility allows you to dial in your ideal sound.
Features of the Dirt Transmitter Legacy Reissue
- Limited edition of 1000 units
- Rare silicon transistors that offer a gritty top-end response and more gain than typical germanium transistors
- Four knobs: Level, Fuzz, Tone, and Bias
- Flexi-Switch Technology for momentary and latching style switching
How to Use the Dirt Transmitter Legacy Reissue
The Dirt Transmitter Legacy Reissue is a versatile fuzz pedal that can be used for a variety of tones. The Fuzz knob controls the amount of gain, while the Tone knob controls the brightness of the sound.
The Bias knob affects the voltage to the transistors, which can create more gated Velcro fuzz tones counterclockwise and thicker, natural fuzz tones clockwise. The Level knob controls the overall volume of the pedal.
Guitar Bomb Verdict
The EarthQuaker Devices Dirt Transmitter Legacy Reissue is an excellent option for guitarists who are looking for a versatile fuzz pedal with a wide range of great fuzz tones.
With its limited edition status, this pedal is sure to become a collector’s item.
