Ernie Ball Music Man has announced the arrival of an exceptionally exclusive addition to their acclaimed Kaizen series: the limited-edition Black Limba Ernie Ball Music Man Kaizen. Building upon the groundbreaking collaboration that first debuted in 2022, these stunning instruments represent the pinnacle of innovation and craftsmanship.
Black Limba Kaizen
This highly sought-after iteration showcases a striking natural Black Limba body, finished with a smooth satin that exudes both rustic charm and undeniable elegance. You may remember the previous limited run of the Gallium Kaizen we covered last year.
Each guitar is meticulously crafted and features a Roasted Figured Maple neck, treated with an oil and wax finish for unparalleled playability and comfort. The smoky Ebony fingerboard further enhances the guitar’s sophisticated aesthetic and offers a premium playing experience.
Engineered for sonic excellence, the Black Limba Kaizens boast a multi-scale design, ranging from 24.75″ to 25.5” (E to E on the 6-string) and 24.75″ to 25.65″ (E to B on the 7-string).
This innovative design ensures optimal string tension and intonation across the fretboard, delivering exceptional clarity and articulation.

Multi-Scale
Players will also appreciate the inclusion of a Music Man Custom multi-scale tremolo with a cover and innovative spring dampeners.
This high-performance tremolo system effectively eliminates unwanted overtones and ringing, providing a focused and articulate sound even during the most demanding playing.
HT (Heat Treated)
The tonal heart of the Black Limba Kaizen lies in its custom-designed pickups. Featuring an Ernie Ball Music Man designed custom HT (Heat Treated) humbucker in the bridge position and a slanted mini-humbucker in the neck position, these pickups deliver ultra-high output and a powerful low-end response.
Crucially, they maintain a distinctively clean and clear tone with exceptional definition, even at lower volume levels, offering a versatile sonic palette for any musical style.
A.J. Braman of Ernie Ball Music Man enthusiastically commented, “This is very cool! We’re doing a limited run of Kaizen that features a satin finish Black Limba body. It’s kind of a simple, rustic look, but very elegant. Probably my favorite look on the Kaizen so far. That Black Limba is paired with a smoky Ebony fretboard and roasted figured maple necks. We’re limiting these to just 50 six-string and 50 seven-string versions, making them truly special instruments.”
