EVH, the iconic brand synonymous with the legendary Eddie Van Halen, has officially launched the highly anticipated Wolfgang WG Standard T.O.M. This new electric guitar delivers on the company’s promise of a hardtail option, offering a more accessible and player-friendly alternative alongside the existing Wolfgang Special T.O.M. Both models signal a significant shift for EVH, catering to the broader preference for stop-tail bridges over locking tremolos.
Wolfgang Standard T.O.M.
Following a sneak peek at NAMM earlier this year, the Wolfgang Standard T.O.M. arrives with an attractive £599/ $599.99 price tag, positioning itself as the more budget-conscious sibling to the premium Special variant.
This strategic move aims to bring the signature EVH experience to a wider range of guitarists who favor the stability and straightforwardness of a hardtail setup.

“More people play stop-tails than guitars with locking tremolos,” stated EVH, “We dig both and we want to show people what we can come up with.” This sentiment underscores EVH’s commitment to innovation and responsiveness to player preferences, while still honoring Eddie Van Halen’s groundbreaking legacy.

Designed by Van Halen
The EVH Wolfgang Standard T.O.M. boasts a thoughtfully designed construction, featuring a basswood body with a comfortable forearm contour to enhance playability.
Its bolt-on baked maple neck is reinforced with graphite for exceptional stability and resists warping, while a convenient spoke wheel allows for effortless truss rod adjustments.

Compound Radius
Players will appreciate the smooth feel of the 12”-16” compound radius baked maple fingerboard, equipped with 22 jumbo frets and classic black dot inlays.
Powering the sonic muscle of this guitar are dual EVH Wolfgang humbucking pickups, meticulously wired to black speed volume and tone knobs with 500k pots for precise tonal control and articulation.

Finish Options
Aesthetically, the Wolfgang Standard T.O.M. is available in sleek Gloss Black, elegant Cream White, and eye-catching Sea Foam Pearl Metallic finishes, ensuring a style that suits every player.
Crucially, the new Standard and the higher-end Wolfgang Special T.O.M. are exclusively offered as hardtail models.
This marks a notable departure from previous Wolfgang releases that heavily featured Floyd Rose locking tremolos, indicating a new direction for the brand in acknowledging the widespread appeal of hardtail guitars.

EVH Wolfgang Alnico 2
The Wolfgang Special T.O.M., while not the primary focus of this launch, is described as a “purebred music-making machine” engineered for “stunning style, giant sound, and high-speed playability.”
It features an arched-top basswood body, a graphite-reinforced bolt-on quartersawn baked maple neck carved to Eddie’s exacting specifications with a hand-rubbed satin urethane finish, and custom-designed EVH Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbuckers for dynamic and articulate voicings with impressive sustain.
With the introduction of the Wolfgang Standard T.O.M., EVH is making its renowned quality and design more accessible than ever, while simultaneously catering to the significant portion of guitarists who prefer the stability and directness of a hardtail bridge.
This new offering promises to carry Eddie Van Halen’s innovative spirit forward, empowering a new generation of players.
