Gibson Custom Shop has announced a limited-edition run of Les Paul guitars today, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the five iconic models displayed at the 1955 NAMM Show.

We are thrilled to honor this legacy with this meticulously crafted limited edition.”

Recreating a Legend

The 1955 NAMM Show Commemorative Edition Les Pauls faithfully recreate the specifications of the original instruments, including:

  • Five Custom Colors: Samoa Beige, Copper Iridescent, Nugget Gold, Platinum, and Viceroy Brown – each limited to 70 guitars.
  • Lightweight Mahogany Body: With a figured maple top and hide glue construction.
  • 1950s Chunky D-Shape Neck: Crafted from one-piece mahogany with a long tenon and an Indian rosewood fretboard featuring 22 narrow/tall frets.
  • Historic Pickups: A pair of hand-wired Custom Shop P-90 Soapbar pickups deliver classic Gibson tone.
  • Authentic Hardware: Includes a no-wire ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, Stop Bar tailpiece, and period-correct Kluson tuners.
  • Murphy Lab Light Aging: Each guitar undergoes meticulous aging by the skilled artisans of the Murphy Lab, simulating decades of light play wear for an authentic vintage look and feel.
