Gibson has teamed up with System Of A Down’s iconic frontman, Serj Tankian, to unveil a highly exclusive Custom Shop signature guitar. This special instrument commemorates the release of Tankian’s latest EP, “Foundations,” on Gibson’s record label.

The Serj Tankian Foundations Les Paul Modern is an ultra-rare offering, with only 25 models being produced worldwide.
These coveted guitars are available exclusively through the Gibson Garage.
Each instrument features a striking sublimation-printed graphic finish showcasing Tankian’s artwork, a piece titled ‘Sunburst’.

More than just a guitar, this collaboration presents a comprehensive collector’s package celebrating Tankian’s diverse artistic expressions. Each purchase includes a signed version of the limited-edition Les Paul Modern itself, alongside a signed 12″ vinyl copy of the “Foundations” EP and a signed 18” x 24” museum-grade art print of ‘Sunburst’.
VIP tickets
Adding further value for fans, the package also contains a signed copy of Tankian’s memoir, “Down With The System.”
To top it off, buyers will receive two VIP tickets to an upcoming System Of A Down concert in either New York City, Chicago, or Toronto, offering an exclusive fan experience.

The guitar itself is a Les Paul Modern, known for its player-friendly features. It boasts an Ultra-Modern weight-relief system for enhanced comfort and a SlimTaper mahogany neck with a Modern Contoured heel, allowing for superior access to the upper frets.
The body is crafted from mahogany and topped with AAA-grade maple, while the fretboard is made of ebony with a compound radius.
Modern appointments include locking Grover Rotomatic tuners and versatile electronics.
The guitar is equipped with BurstBucker Pro and Pro Plus pickups wired to dual volume and tone controls, featuring push/pull functionality for coil-tapping, out-of-phase tones, and a tone circuit bypass.
Additional specifications include an aluminium Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop-bar tailpiece, a Graph Tech nut, and 22 medium jumbo frets. Each guitar comes with a standard hard-shell case.
