Gretsch has officially brought back its iconic 1960s Corvette guitar, introducing the all-new CVT and CVT Bass. The new models offer a budget-friendly take on the vintage classic, beloved by legendary guitarists like Rory Gallagher and Jimi Hendrix.
Gretsch CVT
The return of the Corvette silhouette has been highly anticipated by players. For a time, the unique double-cut design was only available on a few limited-run signature models, but now, Gretsch has answered the call with the new CVT Double-Cut. This release joins a growing trend of guitar brands resurrecting overlooked gems from their past.
Key Features
This is a feature-packed electric guitar with a classic “retro-refined” style. It boasts a 24.6″ scale length, a 12″ fretboard radius, and an Adjustable Wrap-Around bridge for solid intonation. The guitar is powered by a pair of Twin Six humbuckers, designed to deliver a strong midrange, crisp highs, and full lows.
Other notable appointments include:
- A Graph Tech NuBone nut
- Nickel hardware
- Pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays
The Gretsch CVT Bass is also available, sharing the same design as its six-string counterpart. Both the CVT and the CVT Bass feature a mahogany body and a bolt-on mahogany neck.
CVT Bass
It is available in your choice of Bristol Fog or Vintage White finishes.
This model features a comfortable 32″ scale length and a bolt-on mahogany neck with a “Performance C” shape. The bound laurel fretboard is adorned with Gretsch’s classic pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays. For hardware, it includes a direct-mount 4-saddle bridge and a genuine bone nut.
The CVT Bass is equipped with a versatile pickup configuration: a Low Down Alnico Bass single-coil in the bridge position and a humbucking pickup in the neck. This combination is wired with individual Neck and Bridge Volume controls, along with a Master Tone, giving you plenty of options to dial in a growling, powerful tone.
