DeathCloud Banner

Ibanez has officially pulled back the curtain on the BER10, the highly anticipated signature electric guitar for Austrian virtuoso Bernth, former guitarist for the death metal band Belphegor. Culminating two years of intensive research and development, the BER10 is more than just a new instrument; it’s being marketed as a performance-focused shred guitar designed to tackle common playing hurdles and dramatically improve a player’s technique and tone.

“For two years, I worked side by side with Ibanez to design an instrument that actually solves the problems holding guitarists back,” Bernth announced on his Instagram. This initial limited edition run is now available, with a street price of $1,699.

Performance-Focused Design: RG Meets AZ

The Ibanez BER10 presents a slick, high-performance hybrid, combining the aggressive heritage of the popular Ibanez RG Series with the refined, modern feel of the Ibanez AZ range.

Clean Machine

The aesthetic is clean and stealthy: a solid alder body finished in matte black. The ebony fretboard is adorned with striking reverse shark tooth inlays, while the roasted maple Oval C neck provides a fast, comfortable profile. Bernth notes that the neck shape was refined using feedback from his massive online fanbase, ensuring an optimal feel for modern guitarists.

Key features designed for uncompromising performance include:

  • 24 Jumbo Stainless Steel Frets: For effortless bending and a snappy feel.
  • Contoured Neck Heel: Offers seamless access to all 24 frets.
  • Luminlay Side Markers: Glow-in-the-dark dots for navigation on dark stages.
  • Oval C Neck Profile: Measures at the 1st fret and at the 12th, built for speed.
  • 25.5-inch Scale Length and 12-inch Fingerboard Radius.

Cutting-Edge Hardware and Electronics

The hardware package is top-tier, ensuring stability and sustain for demanding players. The BER10 features a Gotoh T1502 tremolo system, Gotoh MG-T locking tuners, and a Graph Tech TUSQ XL nut.

Signature Fishman Fluence Power

Tonal versatility is a cornerstone of the BER10’s design. The guitar is loaded with a pair of multi-voice signature Fishman humbuckers custom-voiced for Bernth. These pickups are engineered to deliver both “crushing distortion and modern cleans,” giving the player a wide sonic palette.

Dyna-Mix

The guitar’s flexibility is maximized by a sophisticated switching system, reminiscent of Ibanez’s renowned Dyna-Mix setup:

  • Five-Way Pickup Selector: Offers a standard array of series and parallel combinations.
  • Push/Pull Tone Knob: This switch activates an alternative voicing for the Fishman pickups, effectively doubling the core tones available and providing up to nine unique tonal options.

“This isn’t just another guitar—it’s a tool built to push your playing further, cleaner, and faster from day one,” Bernth states. With high-end specs and player-driven features, the Ibanez BER10 is positioned as a serious instrument for guitarists seeking to elevate their technique.
