Jackson Guitars has announced the return of the iconic Rhoads V electric guitar to its prestigious American Series, marking a significant homecoming for the legendary metal axe. This new lineup, crafted in Corona, California, revisits the design that helped launch the Jackson brand and became one of metal’s most enduring instruments.
Randy Rhoads
Originally a collaboration between Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist Randy Rhoads and Grover Jackson in the early 1980s, the Rhoads V pioneered a distinct V-shaped template that cemented its place in music history.
For years, premium Rhoads models have been made overseas, but Jackson’s decision to bring the flagship model back to its U.S. factory underscores its importance to the company.
The Rhoads is only the third addition to the American Series, joining the Soloist and Virtuoso.
“The American Series Rhoads was created to bring the legendary shape that metal guitarists have coveted for decades to a new generation,” says Jon Romanowski, VP of Product for Jackson. “Built in the U.S., this premium guitar is engineered for players who demand uncompromising metal tone and performance.”

Engineered for Ultimate Shredding Performance
The new American Series Rhoads is available in two formats: the RR24 and the RR24HT. Both models are built for high-performance shredding and feature top-tier components.
Key features include:
- USA-made Seymour Duncan JB and ’59 pickups for powerful, classic tone.
- An offset V alder body and a graphite-reinforced three-piece maple neck.
- A 12″-16″ compound radius ebony fingerboard with 24 jumbo stainless steel frets.
- Luminlay side dots, Gotoh MG-T locking tuners, and Sharkfin inlays.
Floyd Rose & Hard Tail
The RR24 model includes a recessed 1500 Series Floyd Rose tremolo, while the RR24HT features a Hipshot hardtail bridge. Both versions are available in Snow White and Satin Black finishes, plus the Matte Army Drab for the RR24 model.
To showcase the new guitars, Jackson enlisted metal veterans Jeff Loomis and Brandon Ellis, who are featured in the official launch video putting the new models through their paces.

The American Series RR24HT is priced at $2,729/£2199, and the RR24 is available for $2,849/£2249.
