Blues guitar legend Joe Bonamassa has teamed up with Epiphone to release a stunning new signature model: the 1955 Les Paul Standard Copper Iridescent. This limited edition guitar pays homage to a rare Gibson factory custom finish that Bonamassa himself owns.
A Unique Finish
The Copper Iridescent finish is as striking as it is uncommon. Bonamassa says, “From a distance, it looks brown, but in direct light, the golden glitter in the finish shows.” This unique colorway was originally created by Gibson for the 1955 NAMM Show, making it a true collector’s item.
He also teased a Murphy Lab-aged Amos 1958 Flying V model.
Classic Les Paul Specifications
Despite its finish, the 1955 Les Paul Standard maintains the classic Les Paul specifications we know and love. It features a mahogany body with a maple cap, a mahogany neck with a Custom ’59 Rounded C profile, and a laurel fretboard. The guitar has a glued-in, set neck with a long tenon and 22 medium jumbo frets.
Powerful P-90 PRO Pickups
The guitar’s sound is powered by a pair of Epiphone P-90 PRO pickups. These pickups offer a balanced tone that is perfect for blues, rock, and jazz. The P-90s are wired with a three-way toggle switch and traditional two-volume, two-tone controls, using CTS Potentiometers, Mallory Capacitors, and 50s wiring.
Premium Hardware
The 1955 Les Paul Standard is equipped with high-quality hardware, including an Epiphone LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge, a stop bar, Epiphone Deluxe tuners, and cream plastics. The guitar also features a set of Copper Iridescent Speed with Dial Pointer knobs for the controls.
A Must-Have for Bonamassa Fans
The Epiphone Joe Bonamassa 1955 Les Paul Standard Copper Iridescent is a must-have for any Bonamassa fan or collector. With its stunning finish, powerful P-90 PRO pickups, and premium hardware, this guitar is sure to impress.
