Gretsch has unveiled the limited edition boygenius Broadkaster Jr guitar, celebrating the iconic indie rock trio of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker. This exclusive release, available now on the band’s official website, merges the legacy of Gretsch with the innovative spirit of Boygenius.

Crafted by Gretsch, this new model is equipped with Electromatic Filter’Tron pickups and features a vintage-style Gretsch trapeze tailpiece. It boasts custom design elements such as boygenius-themed fretboard inlays and a nickel head badge adorned with the band’s signatures and logo. The guitar showcases a sleek black finish, a compact body without a Bigsby, and those full-size Filter’Tron pickups, tailored to Boygenius’s specifications for accessibility and affordability.

boygenius themselves have expressed their enthusiasm for the guitar, stating, “I wish this had been my first guitar.” This sentiment reflects the guitar’s design philosophy, aimed at making quality instruments accessible to a wider range of musicians. It includes a chambered center block maple body and f-holes, so fairly typical Gretsch features.

This collaboration aims to ignite inspiration among fans of the band and offers an affordable new Gretch model whilst doing so. Unfortunately, it is pre-order only and is expected to ship on or about 8/9/2024. Therefore, a long wait until they are available to play.
