Marshall Unveils Ultra-Limited Sex Pistols 50th Anniversary JCM800 Half Stack
Marshall celebrates 50 years of the Sex Pistols with a limited-edition JCM800 Half Stack. Only 81 units of this 100W anarchic pink tube amp exist worldwide.

Marshall Amplification has officially joined forces with the Sex Pistols to mark the legendary punk band’s 50th anniversary. To celebrate five decades of rebellion, the iconic British manufacturer is releasing a strictly limited-edition tube amp designed to capture the raw energy of the movement that redefined music history.

The release features a striking reimagining of the classic JCM800 Half Stack. This collaboration serves as a vivid tribute to the band’s sonic legacy and disruptive cultural influence. Guitarist Steve Jones played a central role in the unit’s development, ensuring the gear met the standards of the sound he helped pioneer.

Iconic Aesthetic Meets Professional Performance

The amplifier immediately stands out for its anarchic pink-and-yellow color scheme. This vibrant design is a direct nod to the artwork of the band’s seminal 1977 album, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols.

The setup includes a high-powered head paired with a matching 1960A 4×12 angled cabinet. The cabinet is loaded with Celestion G12T-75 speakers, which are renowned for handling high-gain punk and rock tones with ease. To signify the milestone, each unit features a custom 50th-anniversary commemorative badge.

Precision Engineering and Punk Heritage

Under the hood, the amplifier provides 100 watts of classic British valve power. Designed with a minimalist, high-performance philosophy, the head features a single channel, master volume control, and an effects loop. It is engineered to replicate the aggressive, late-1970s firepower that defined the early punk era.

The new gear has already seen action on stage during the Sex Pistols’ recent live performances, where Steve Jones has been using the setup alongside frontman Frank Carter.

Exclusive Availability for Collectors

As a boutique release, production is being kept extremely limited. Only 81 units are being manufactured at the famous Marshall factory in Bletchley, England. Given the small production run and the historical significance of the partnership, these amplifiers are expected to become highly sought-after collector’s items.

Steve Jones has long favored the 800 series for its consistency and reliability on the road, noting that the equipment’s straightforward nature perfectly suits rock and roll. Marshall’s leadership team emphasized that because the JCM800 was the defining voice of British punk, working with Jones to recreate it for this anniversary was a natural way to honor a sound that changed the industry forever.
