Guitar legend Johnny Marr has unveiled his latest signature guitar, a unique 7-string Martin acoustic. The Smiths and Modest Mouse guitarist has always been known for his innovative approach to guitar playing, and his latest signature model, the M-7, is no exception. This unusual instrument features an extra string, an octave G, to deliver Marr’s signature jangle.
A Unique Design
The M-7 boasts a Grand Auditorium body size and a hybrid design that combines the width of a Jumbo guitar with the thickness of a 000.

Construction
Other key features include a solid Sitka spruce top, East Indian rosewood back and sides, a mahogany neck and an ebony fingerboard, and LR Baggs Anthem electronics.
With volume, mix, microphone level, and phase controls, capture your sound perfectly. Both models include a durable hard case and an exclusive Souldier strap.

Unique Bridge
One of the M-7’s most intriguing aspects is its unique bridge design. Despite having seven strings, it only has six bridge pins.
The two G strings share one pin, allowing for a compact, player-friendly design.

Marr’s Vision
As Marr himself explains, the M-7 is the culmination of years of experimentation:
“I’ve now got my own signature guitar that makes me sound like in the studio when I’ve put this really great old compressor on it with a great mic and a little hint of the high string in there,” Marr says. “All of these things that I do on record using a few guitars, I’ve got it all in the one guitar that I can carry around with me.”

A Legacy of Martin
Marr has a long history with Martin guitars. He famously used a 1971 D-28 to record classic songs like “There Is a Light That Never Goes Out” and “Cemetery Gates.” The M-6 and M-7 are the latest additions to Marr’s signature line, offering players a chance to tap into his unique sound.

so there’s one peg for the two G strings, but an extra tuning gear? Am I seeing this correctly?
