PRS Unveils Ultra-Limited Mango Wood Series Across Six Iconic Models

PRS Unveils Ultra-Limited Mango Wood Series Across Six Iconic Models
Check out the new PRS Mango Wood Limited Edition series. Only 1,200 units available across six iconic models like the Custom 24 and McCarty 594.

PRS Guitars has officially announced a stunning new limited-edition run, swapping traditional maple for the wild, unpredictable aesthetics of Mango wood. This exclusive release covers six of the brand’s most coveted electric guitars, but with only 1,200 units available worldwide, collectors and players will need to move fast.

A New “Fingerprint” for Tone and Style

The standout feature of this collection is the use of Mangifera Indica. According to founder Paul Reed Smith, mango wood offers a level of visual variety that traditional tonewoods simply can’t match.

“There’s a new kind of extraordinary figured wood that we’re starting to use called mango,” says Smith. “It’s wild looking. All of the mango wood that we use on these guitars are figured in a different way. I’ve never seen the same exact top—it just doesn’t happen.”

This “fingerprint” quality means no two guitars in the 1,200-unit run will look identical. Patterns range from natural chevrons to “bee’s wing” curls and chaotic grain lines.

The Technical Specs

While the aesthetics are the headline, the construction remains Tier-1 PRS quality. Every guitar in this limited run features:

  • Top Wood: Figured Mango

  • Fretboard: Premium Ziricote

  • Headstock: Matching Ziricote veneer

  • Weight: Slightly lighter and less dense than traditional maple, offering a unique resonance.

Which Models are Getting the Mango Treatment?

Sustainability Meets Sonic Excellence

Beyond the “cool factor,” mango wood is a win for the environment. It is a farmed, sustainable timber. Trees are only harvested and salvaged once they reach the end of their fruit-bearing life cycle.

But for Paul Reed Smith, the bottom line is always the sound.

“I’m interested in the caliber of the curl and the way it looks, but I’m also extraordinarily interested in how the guitar’s going to sound,” Smith explains. “My experience with this mango is that it makes really good musical instruments. In the end, that’s what really turns a musician on.”

With only 1,200 guitars total across the entire global market, these are expected to disappear from authorized PRS dealers rapidly. If you’re looking for a “one-of-one” visual aesthetic backed by legendary craftsmanship, the PRS Mango Limited Edition is the 2026 release to watch.

The PRS Mango Wood Limited Edition series is positioned within the premium Core USA lineup. Retail prices vary slightly by model and region, but generally range from $5,090 to $5,480 USD (approximately £4,999 to £5,199 GBP).
