PRS Guitars has just announced a new, highly anticipated limited-edition model: the PRS SE DGT Laurel Burl. This release marks the first time the popular David Grissom signature model has been offered with a unique laurel burl finish, with only 1,000 units available worldwide.
A Striking and Unique Design
The PRS SE DGT Laurel Burl stands out with its visually impressive laurel burl veneer top, which is applied to a maple top. Since each burl pattern is unique, no two guitars will look exactly alike.
This distinctive top features the signature PRS Shallow Violin carve. The body and neck are crafted from mahogany, complemented by a rosewood fretboard adorned with the iconic PRS Bird inlays.
McCarty Tobacco Burst
The McCarty Tobacco Burst finish is beautifully accented by the smoked black hardware, including the PRS patented tremolo and PRS SE Tuners.

Classic Tone and Unmatched Versatility
Beyond its stunning looks, the SE DGT Laurel Burl is designed for superior playability and a wide range of tones. The guitar’s 25” scale length, 10″ fretboard radius, and 22 frets are specifically chosen to place the neck pickup in the perfect tonal sweet spot—a feature preferred by many players, including David Grissom himself.
PRS DGT “S” pickups
The guitar is powered by custom-voiced PRS DGT “S” pickups, which deliver everything from rich vintage warmth to a powerful mid-gain punch. The unique DGT control layout provides exceptional sonic control with separate volume controls for each pickup and a push/pull tone pot for coil-splitting, giving players a vast array of tonal options.
High Demand for a Collector’s Item
The PRS DGT model, both the core and the more accessible SE versions, has a dedicated global following. With only 1,000 limited-run guitars being produced, these will likely sell out quickly. Fans of the PRS DGT model and collectors looking for a unique instrument should act fast to secure one before they’re gone.
Price & Availability
Priced $949/£1099/€1199 including a PRS padded gig bag, this limited-run model won’t be around forever.
