Each Red Dawn guitar features a sleek, black finish accented with blood-red trim and is built upon a fast-playing, S-style platform. While the series focuses on six—and seven-string models, including a 27” scale baritone, the absence of an eight-string option has raised some eyebrows among the extended-range guitar community.

Heavy Metal Guitar

Despite this, Schecter has packed the Red Dawn series with impressive specs and competitive pricing, signaling its intention to be a serious contender in the heavy metal guitar market.

Key features include stainless steel frets, Luminlay side dots, Schecter locking tuners, and Fishman Fluence humbuckers. However, fans of traditional tremolo systems should note that the Red Dawn series forgoes Floyd Rose bridges.

The guitars feature basswood bodies and ultra-thin, three-piece C-profile set necks, measuring a slim 19mm at the 1st fret and 20mm at the 12th.

Ebony fretboards with a 16″ radius, striking red open-core ceramic pickup aesthetics, five-way switches, and push/pull volume knobs complete the minimalist yet powerful design. This push/pull functionality allows for expanded tonal versatility from the high-output Fishman pickups.

Evertune

Djent enthusiasts will be particularly drawn to the two seven-string models, which offer a choice between a rock-steady EverTune bridge or a Tone Pros locking TOM, string-thru-body design.

The three six-string models also feature either EverTune or Tone Pros bridges, while the 27″ baritone is equipped with an EverTune for stable low tunings. Easy access spoke-wheel truss rod adjustments ensure optimal playability for even the most extreme down-tunings.
