$199 Adam Jones Silverburst? Firefly FFLPS

The $199 Firefly FFLPS could be an Epiphone Adam Jones Silverburst Les Paul Custom if you squint your eyes.

A $199 Adam Jones Silverburst? The Firefly FFLPS is a Silverburst Les Paul Custom style guitar and it comes with artwork on the rear.  But unlike the Epiphone Adam Jones Art Collection series, this guitar is very affordable.

$199 Adam Jones Silverburst

The Firefly FFLPS model is certainly inspired by the Epiphone Adam Jones Art Collection Silverburst Les Paul Custom models. The Epiphone models retail for $1299 and are limited to 800 guitars for each version of the artwork. We already know the Queen Bee is due sometime this month and is supposedly the last in the series.

Whereas, the Firefly FFLPS is priced at $199 each!

This means you could buy at least six of these Firefly FFLPS guitars for the price of a single Adam Jones model!

Differences

There are s few key differences between the models. The Epiphone Adam Jones models come with an Epiphone ProBucker Custom humbucker in the neck position and a Seymour Duncan Distortion humbucker in the bridge. The FFLPS has a set of Alnico 5 humbuckers listed instead.

Stainless Steel

Ebony is used for the fretboard of the Adam Jones signature model, whereas the Firefly FFLPS has a rosewood fretboard. However, the Firefly FFLPS has a set of Stainless steel and ball end frets which is a huge upgrade compared to the more expensive Epiphone model.

Details

The Firefly also has a bone nut, whereas the Epiphone has a Graph Tech nut. It looks like a set of Grover-style tuners, which is almost the same as the Epiphone, which also uses unbranded tuners for the Adam Jones model.

Actually, the rest of the hardware looks similar, and there isn’t much difference in terms of the control layout or the Silverburst finish.

Plus, the Firefly has some artwork on the back of the guitar, which looks like a Barbarian.

Guitar Bomb Verdict

Sure, these two models aren’t exactly the same, but for $199 the FireFly leaves you with a lot of money in your pocket to go buy some upgrades and a hard case. We also much prefer the headstock shape on the Firefly model, compared to the Epiphone design.
