Heavy metal powerhouse Jackson Guitars has officially teamed up with Sabaton lead guitarist Chris Rörland to launch his first-ever signature model: the Pro Series Signature Chris Rörland SL7 Soloist.

Chris Rörland SL7 Soloist

Four years after joining the Jackson artist roster, the Swedish metal institution’s riff-master finally has a seven-string weapon tailored to his exacting live and studio standards.

Built on Jackson’s legendary Soloist template, the SL7 is engineered from the ground up for down-tuned warfare, rapid-fire riffs, and soaring melodic leads.

Designed for Heavy Metal Warfare

To handle Sabaton’s massive sonic demands, the SL7 Soloist features a 26.5-inch extended scale length and a neck-through maple construction. This deliberate choice provides rock-solid tension and extra stability for the lower tunings Rörland favors.

EMG-Loaded

Sonically, the SL7 is driven by a crushing active pickup combination: an EMG 81-7H humbucker in the bridge for high-output aggression, paired with a warmer EMG 85-7H in the neck for smooth harmonies and lead work.

A recessed Floyd Rose 1000 Series seven-string tremolo ensures tuning stability even during the most demanding dive-bombs.

Key Specs at a Glance:

  • Scale Length: 26.5”
  • Construction: Neck-through maple with compound radius ebony fingerboard
  • Pickups: EMG 81-7H (Bridge) / EMG 85-7H (Neck)
  • Hardware: Recessed Floyd Rose 1000 Series 7-string tremolo
  • Finish: Satin Black

Custom Tweaks Built for the Stage

What truly sets this signature model apart are Rörland’s personal ergonomic adjustments. Rörland swapped the traditional Soloist blade switch for a three-way toggle and moved it closer to the neck.

This lets Rörland seamlessly switch pickups mid-solo with just his middle finger. Furthermore, the instrument's sole volume knob was intentionally moved out of the strumming path to prevent accidental roll-offs during aggressive rhythm playing.

“I never found a guitar that felt 110% right for me,” Rörland shared regarding the collaboration. “I wanted to build a real beast – effortless to play, stays in tune and built for the stage. It’s precise, aggressive and reliable – a guitar that doesn’t fight you. You plug it in, and it’s ready to go to war.”

Jackson’s VP of Product, Jon Romanowski, echoed this excitement: “Chris represents exactly the kind of player who makes sense for Jackson. His playing is incredibly precise and technical, but there’s also an intensity and power to it that connects immediately with an audience. With the SL7, we wanted to build an instrument around the way Chris actually plays.”
