Logic Pro 13: Apple's AI Assistant Hits the Studio
Logic Pro 13 arrives in November with AI assistant, redesigned Smart Browser, upgraded Stem Splitter, and Sergio George producer pack. Free update for existing owners

Apple is having a remarkably busy week. Between slapping the shiny new M6 processor into MacBook Pros and iMacs, dropping a fresh iPad Mini, and letting rumors fly about a long-awaited touchscreen MacBook, they’ve also dropped a massive beat for music makers: Apple Logic Pro 13 is officially on the way.
And yes, according to Apple insiders, they skipped the polite 12.5 pleasantries and went straight to lucky number 13.
I’ve been using Logic myself for well over 30 years now (I also worked for Apple for 16 years and taught Logic) —back when finding the right kick drum felt like a digital archaeological dig. Looking at this latest release, I can genuinely say this is going to be an incredibly useful update for a lot of young producers and people who just want to create absolute bangers right inside their laptop or desktop machine.
Here is a detailed breakdown of everything coming to Apple’s flagship digital audio workstation (DAW) this November.
Meet Your New AI Co-Producer
Given Apple’s recent obsession with AI, we fully expected Logic Pro to get a machine-learning makeover. Building on older features like version 12.3's Chord ID—which automatically detects chords and suggests matching progressions—Logic Pro 13 introduces a terrifyingly smart (in a very good way) intelligent assistant.
Powered by a cocktail of Apple-built models and OpenAI, this assistant is designed to hold your hand from your first messy loop to your final mastered track. Want a vocal track? Just type a prompt. Need to refine an active project? Just ask.
The catch? To unlock this AI magic, you’ll need an Apple Intelligence-capable Mac running the futuristic-sounding macOS 27 Golden Gate or later, and the assistant currently only speaks U.S. English.

The Redesigned Smart Browser
The new Smart Browser is arguably the real MVP of this update. It centralizes your loops, instruments, and effect patches into one glorious, intuitive hub.
Powered by "music understanding"—a sophisticated on-device audio analysis tool—Logic Pro 13 now automatically analyzes, classifies, and tags all of your added sounds.
You can easily search your entire sample collection or just drag in a loop to instantly surface matching audio. Take it from a 20-year veteran: this feature alone will potentially save you hundreds of hours of aimless clicking.

Stem Splitter & Magic Memos
The built-in Stem Splitter just hit the gym. It has received a major upgrade that now allows you to isolate, replace, and entirely rebalance individual drum parts without needing the original multitracks. It is perfect for when you want to "borrow" a groove but swap out a tired hi-hat.

Meanwhile, mobile creators are getting some love, too. If you record ideas on your supported iPhone using the Voice Memo Studio Sound app, Logic Pro 13 allows you to seamlessly reduce room ambiance and background noise, letting you fine-tune the audio on your Mac. Say goodbye to the neighbor's dog ruining your acoustic guitar demos.

Sergio George Brings the Salsa
To top off the technical updates, Logic Pro 13 adds a brand-new Producer Pack from 20-time Grammy winner and undisputed King of Modern Salsa, Sergio George.
Producers will get access to his personal toolbox, featuring his signature piano sound and authentic Latin jazz and salsa loops. This includes a full salsa percussion section, roaring brass ensembles, and grooving basses. It's essentially an instant party in a folder.

Pricing and Availability
Apple Logic Pro 13 will be available in November 2026. If you already own Logic Pro, you can breathe a sigh of relief: this is a completely free update.
For newcomers to the Apple ecosystem, you can purchase it outright for $199.99, or rent it as part of Apple’s subscription-based Creator Studio Software package (which also includes Final Cut Pro) for $12.99 monthly or $129 yearly.
While there is no official word yet on whether Logic Pro for iPad will receive a simultaneous update, this desktop overhaul is shaping up to be a must-have for the modern producer.
