Fender has officially confirmed that support for Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) A2 is coming to the Tone Master Pro. In response to recent rumors on the Tone Master Pro Users Forum, Fender's Max Gutnik announced the upcoming feature in a post.

While the development team is currently "putting it through its paces," there is no confirmed release date just yet.

A2 Update Coming

The update promises to be a seamless integration rather than a clunky bolt-on feature. According to Gutnik, A2 captures will drop directly into the TMP’s signal chain exactly like standard amps and effects.

Users will have full control over the captures via the unit's touchscreen and the companion app. To keep the interface visually organized, players can even assign custom graphics to each loaded profile.

This native support will be a massive workflow upgrade and a relief to gigging musicians. As Mitchell van Vliet pointed out in his YouTube video covering the news, desperate players had previously resorted to hacking their hardware to force NAM profiles into the unit's standard IR slots—a risky process that voids the warranty.

Van Vliet also highlighted that the TMP will function purely as a "player" for the hundreds of thousands of A2 captures already available online. Guitarists looking to capture their own physical rigs will still need to use external software to create the profiles before loading them into the Tone Master Pro.

Importantly for fans of Fender's proprietary DSP, the arrival of open-source NAM support doesn't spell the end of in-house development. The company reportedly confirmed in follow-up forum comments that they will continue creating and releasing their own dedicated Tone Master Pro amp models alongside this new capability.

When will NAM A2 support arrive on Tone Master Pro?

Fender has not announced a specific release date. The development team is currently testing the feature and will announce availability on the Tone Master Pro Users Forum when ready.

How will NAM A2 captures work in Tone Master Pro?

A2 captures will load directly into the signal chain like standard amps and effects. Users control them via the touchscreen and companion app, with the ability to assign custom graphics to each profile.

Do I need external software to use NAM A2 on Tone Master Pro?

To play existing A2 captures, no—they load directly into TMP. However, to create your own amp captures, you must use external software to generate the profiles before importing them.
