"An Inseparable Relationship"

Villarreal has long favored PRS for its ability to cut through the mix in a heavy three-piece band. Blending technical precision with raw energy, she requires an instrument that is both comfortable and sonically massive.

“One of the most important things for me in a guitar is that it feels like an extension of my body and that I can trust it and just do my thing," Villarreal shared. "Ever since I tried my first PRS guitar, it’s been an inseparable relationship. With PRS, I feel powerful and confident — and that’s a feeling that once you find, you don’t want to let go of.”

Ocaso Finish & Celestial Details

This signature guitar is an ode to Villarreal's journey toward finding her identity as a songwriter and player. The model name, Astryx, stems from the root word for "star," symbolizing divine guidance and a connection to something greater.

Visually, the guitar honors her Mexican heritage with a breathtaking custom fade finish dubbed Ocaso (Spanish for "sunset"), which blends vibrant purple, pink, orange, and yellow. Continuing the celestial theme, the Astryx features a unique Solecito ("little sun") inlay placed at the twelfth fret.

Full Detailed Specifications

Built on the foundation of the legendary Custom 24, the Astryx brings a notable tonal tweak to the table—a sleek ebony fretboard that sets it apart from the standard rosewood usually found on Core models.

As the sole guitarist in The Warning, Villarreal relies on her instrument to carry the melody and the low-mid rhythm weight simultaneously. The DMO humbuckers and premium tonewoods provide exactly what she needs.

"It has such a beautiful sustain, which I really like," Villarreal notes. "The neck also feels so comfortable, and it’s not that heavy. As the only guitar player in the band, I love how my PRS takes up a lot of space sonically. It did wonders for our three-piece band."
