Who is Reinhold Bogner?
The German-born amp builder who founded Bogner Amplification in Los Angeles in 1989. He began by custom-building boutique amplifiers based on classic Fenders and Marshalls for individual players, and the company now offers serially produced models derived from that work.
What is a Bogner Ecstasy?
The flagship — a multi-channel amplifier covering clean, classic British crunch and modern high gain in one head, with an unusually large amount of voicing control. It is the amp that defines the brand and the source of the Ecstasy Blue and Red pedals.
What is the difference between a Bogner Shiva and an Uberschall?
Where they sit on the gain scale. The Shiva is the more versatile, lower-gain design with a strong clean channel; the Uberschall is the high-gain amp, tighter and considerably more aggressive. Both are Bogner house voicings rather than variations on the same circuit.
Are Bogner pedals the same circuits as the amps?
They are derived from them. The Blue, Red and Ecstasy pedals take the voicings from the amplifier channels of the same name, and the Wessex and Burnley cover other territory. They are not literal channel-in-a-box copies, but the lineage is real and stated.
