Walrus Audio

Walrus Audio started in Oklahoma City in 2011, a small operation that grew gradually rather than through a single breakout product — Colt Westbrook joined as employee number four in 2014, when the whole company was still just three people. It's since become one of the bigger names in independent pedal building, covering reverb, delay, modulation, fuzz and drive with a house look built around bold, illustrated enclosures rather than the plain-metal boutique norm. A private equity firm took a stake in the company in 2018, though it's stayed based in Oklahoma City. New pedal launches and firmware-driven updates to the Mako series are what we cover most. Here's what we've written.
