Analog Icons Go Digital: Electro-Harmonix and MixWave Launch First Officially Licensed Plugin Suite
Electro-Harmonix and MixWave debut the first-ever officially licensed EHX plugins, featuring component-level models of the Big Muff, Deluxe Memory Man, and more.

In a move that bridges the gap between vintage hardware and modern digital workstations, legendary pedal manufacturer Electro-Harmonix (EHX) has officially entered the software arena. Partnering with developer MixWave, the company has unveiled the EHX Classics Bundle, marking the first time these iconic circuits have been officially licensed and modeled for DAW integration.

For decades, Electro-Harmonix has been a cornerstone of the music industry, with its effects defining the sonic landscape of rock, post-punk, and ambient music. This new collaboration aims to bring that hardware soul to the digital realm through meticulous component-level modeling.

The “Big Four” Reimagined

Last year, Mixwave gave JHS Pedals the plugin treatment, and for 2026, EHX follows with a new suite of classic virtual effects for your DAW.

The bundle consolidates six legendary pedal designs into four versatile plugins, ensuring the “behavioral quirks” of analog circuitry remain intact:

  • Big Muff Pi Fuzz: A comprehensive fuzz suite featuring three distinct circuits: the classic Big Muff Pi, the sought-after Ram’s Head, and the heavy-hitting Russian Big Muff.

  • Deluxe Memory Man: Faithfully capturing the “holy grail” of Bucket Brigade Device (BBD) delays, this plugin replicates the signature warmth, vibrato, and pitch-warped echoes of the original hardware.

  • Electric Mistress: A recreation of the Flanger/Filter Matrix known for its sweeping “jet plane” textures and lush, chorus-like modulations.

  • Small Clone Chorus: Replicating the simple, two-knob depth that defined the grunge era, this plugin provides the specific shimmer and warmth associated with the early ’90s.

Modern Workflow, Vintage Soul

While the internal modeling stays true to the original signal paths, MixWave has optimized the interface for modern production. Producers can now run multiple instances of these “pedals” without the noise floor or cable clutter of a physical signal chain.

“Few companies have shaped the sound of modern music like Electro-Harmonix,” the companies stated in a joint release. “Each effect has been recreated… faithfully capturing the behavior of the original analog circuitry while integrating seamlessly into modern production workflows.”
