These dazzling new looks, personally selected by musician John Mayer, are available exclusively through Sweetwater.
The release marks a new chapter for the SE Silver Sky, which has become a favorite for players seeking the tone and feel of the original PRS Silver Sky at a more accessible price. The two limited-edition finishes come with matching sparkle truss rod covers and exclusive pickguards, ensuring they stand out on any stage.
A Modern Classic, Reimagined
Designed as a collaboration between Mayer and luthier Paul Reed Smith, the Silver Sky blends vintage single-coil guitar DNA with modern playability. The SE version stays true to that legacy, delivering the same attention to detail and sound.
These Sweetwater-exclusive models feature a lightweight poplar body and are loaded with three 635JM “S” single-coil pickups. These pickups are specifically voiced to capture the warm, full-bodied sound and glassy chime of classic early-’60s single-coils, providing incredible clarity and dynamic response for everything from intricate melodies to gritty blues riffs.
A key feature of the SE Silver Sky is its unique 8.5-inch fingerboard radius. This design choice strikes a perfect balance between the traditional feel of vintage guitars and the flat profile of modern necks, making it comfortable for both chording and lead playing.
