Renowned boutique pedal manufacturer ThorpyFX has announced the release of an extremely limited edition overdrive pedal, the Peace²keeper GE Low Gain Edition. This highly anticipated pedal is a modified version of their popular Peacekeeper overdrive, featuring rare New Old Stock (NOS) Germanium diodes and a re-engineered circuit for an even lower-gain, symmetrically clipped tone.
The inspiration for the Peace²keeper GE, or “Peace Squared Keeper GE,” stems from a desire to offer guitarists an exceptionally nuanced low-gain drive. “I feel like now more than ever, we need a bit more peace, so how about peace squared,” stated Adrian Thorpe MBE, founder of ThorpyFX. “The Peace²keeper GE Low Gain Edition came from a want to take our loved low-mid gain overdrive and make it even lower gain.”
A Unique Germanium Tone
The core of this limited-edition pedal lies in its use of NOS Germanium diodes, which Thorpe has held onto for a special project.
These rare components are highly sought after by guitarists for their unique breakup quality, dynamic feel, and natural, amp-like cleanup. The integration of these diodes in the Peace²keeper GE promises to elevate the circuit to new sonic heights.
To optimize the performance of the Germanium transistors, ThorpyFX has modified the original Peacekeeper circuit, transforming it from an asymmetrically clipped drive to a symmetrically clipped one. This subtle yet significant alteration provides a distinct character, even when compared to the original Peacekeeper.

Precision Control and Premium Build
Beyond its unique Germanium heart, the Peace²keeper GE retains the highly regarded control layout and premium build quality synonymous with ThorpyFX pedals. The pedal features independent Gain, Volume, Treble, Presence, and Bass controls, offering unparalleled tonal sculpting.
A key design philosophy at ThorpyFX is the strategic placement of EQ controls. Unlike many pedals that house the entire EQ in one section, the Peace²keeper GE’s midrange control is positioned before the pre-gain circuit, allowing for extensive sound customization.
The active high and low EQ controls, placed after the pre-gain circuit, offer a vast range from subtle frequency cuts to powerful boosts, ensuring the pedal can seamlessly integrate into any rig.
As with all ThorpyFX products, the Peace²keeper GE is built to withstand the rigors of touring. Its recessed dials and robust metal casing protect delicate components, while internal construction boasts only the finest electronics, including 1% metal film resistors, Wima and Panasonic capacitors, Neutrik jacks, and a Burr-Brown Opamp, guaranteeing a pristine and reliable effect.
Extremely Limited Availability
Due to the finite supply of NOS Germanium diodes , the Peace²keeper GE Low Gain Edition will be available in extremely limited quantities.
Once this initial batch is sold out, ThorpyFX will not be producing any more. Thorpe also notes that the new Germanium version stacks “fantastically” with the original Peacekeeper, making it a worthwhile addition even for owners of the previous model.
Guitarists looking to experience this unique Germanium overdrive are encouraged to act quickly to secure their ThorpyFX Peace²keeper GE Low Gain Overdrive Pedal.
