Vintage, known for its budget-friendly electric guitars, is expanding its offerings with the new Retro desktop amp series. These 15- and 25-watt combo amps mark the company’s entry into the amp modeling market, aiming to compete with brands like Positive Grid and Boss.
Vintage Retro Amps
Vintage Retro amps offer incredible value with 8 amp models, built-in effects, and Bluetooth connectivity at a fraction of the price of other leading brands.
The Retro amps boast eight amp models, likely including simulations of iconic amps like the Peavey 5150, Vox AC, Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier, and Marshall Plexi (based on the amp controls).

15-watt and 25-watt
The 15-watt model features controls for amp selection, Gain, Tone, Master Volume, and two effect dials. The 25-watt version expands on this with four additional dials for the integrated drum machine – including volume and tempo – plus treble and bass controls.
An optional 1×10 cabinet is also available to complement the range.

Key Features
- Versatile Tones: Eight amp models, including “ultra-clean” and “saturated distortion” sounds, simulating iconic amps like Peavey 5150, Vox AC, Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier, and Marshall Plexi.
- Built-in Effects: High-quality DSP effects include chorus, flanger, vibrato, delay, and reverb. The 25-watt model offers more effects and features compared to the 15-watt version.
- Connectivity: Bluetooth for phone connectivity, USB for DAW recording, and headphone output. An external cabinet connection is also possible.
- Affordability: Prices start at under $150, making them highly competitive.

Competition
The Retro series faces stiff competition from popular models like the Positive Grid Spark GO and Spark Edge, as well as the Boss Katana-Mini X.
However, the growing market for budget-friendly modeling amps benefits players with increased choice.
