2024 PRS S2 Series

These 2024 PRS S2 Series now use the same premium components in PRS’s acclaimed Core guitar line. The Stevensville, Maryland-based company introduced the S2 Series in 2013 as a more affordable option, but now it boasts even more of that coveted PRS quality.

What’s the Big Deal About this PRS S2 Upgrade?

“We’ve made great progress with our pickups recently, and it’s the right time to bring that to the S2 Series,” commented Paul Reed Smith.

This change means S2 guitars are now equipped with top-notch PRS pickups like the 85/15, 58/15 LT, Narrowfield, and TCI models – all crafted in-house. S2 guitars will also feature electronic components identical to core models, ensuring superior reliability and tonal control.

Nitro Finishes

And like all Maryland-produced PRS electrics, the S2 Series benefits from a classic nitrocellulose finish for enhanced resonance and a vintage feel. This finish is thin, allowing the guitars to have a resonant, organic tone.
