Beetronics, known for their innovative effects like the Abelha Tropical fuzz and Nectar Tone Sweetener, has unveiled a new dual-drive stompbox, the Wannabee Beelateral Buzz. Inspired by the legendary Bluesbreaker and Klon Centaur circuits, this pedal promises to be the “ultimate overdrive tool” for guitarists.
Beetronics Wannabee Beelateral Buzz
The Wannabee Beelateral Buzz sets itself apart with a clever routing system. Choose the order of your Bluesbreaker and Klon circuits or blend them in parallel for endless sonic possibilities.
Crank up the volume on the first circuit to push the second into thrilling distortion – experiment to your heart’s content!
Bluesbreaker Circuit: Vintage Warmth, Crystal Clarity
Circuit #0 (Bluesbreaker) delivers vintage amp tones with exceptional clarity and retains that sought-after tube-like warmth. A three-way switch lets you boost mids, keep it flat, or enhance those low-end frequencies.
Klon Circuit: Transparent Overdrive Magic
Circuit #1 (Klon) brings the renowned transparent overdrive tones. The three-way switch controls the clean blend level, offering a range from none to medium or fully saturated.
Each circuit also features Volume, Taste (Tone), Honey (Gain), and a dedicated bypass switch.
Beetronics Promise: Innovation and Inspiration
“The Wannabee elevates our favourite classic overdrive circuits, adding our signature touch and innovative features,” says Beetronics. “Unlock a vast world of sounds with this ultimate overdrive tool.”
What sets the Wannabee apart is its unprecedented flexibility. Players can choose the order in which the Bluesbreaker and Klon circuits interact and seamlessly blend them in parallel. This opens up a universe of overdrive tones, from subtle grit to full-on distortion. Cranking the volume on the first circuit pushes the second into glorious overdrive—perfect for dynamic leads and rhythm work.
The Wannabee Beelateral Buzz costs $299 and can be ordered today. As always, they offer Custom Shop versions for an upcharge if you want a unique colour scheme.
