Gibson has upgraded four of its iconic acoustic guitars with a luxurious Custom Shop touch, introducing the Ebony Series. Inspired by the Les Paul Custom these models look sleek and sophisticated.
Gibson Ebony Series
This special lineup includes the J-45, Hummingbird, SE Songwriter, and SJ-200 models, all boasting elegant features reminiscent of the Les Paul Custom. Picture these acoustics with sleek ebony finishes, intricate multi-ply bindings, and Les Paul-inspired headstocks, all adorned with gold hardware and mother-of-pearl inlays for that extra touch of class.
Black Again
These aren't Gibson's first foray into ebony-finished acoustics; a limited run in the 2021 Gibson Exclusives Collection previously showcased the J-45, Hummingbird, and SJ-200 with similar high-end specifications. However, the new Ebony Series models draw even closer to the classic Les Paul Custom 'Black Beauty' aesthetic, with clean lines and sophisticated detailing, minus the traditional pickguard art on the Hummingbird and SJ-200.
LR Baggs Session VTC
Every guitar in this series comes equipped with an LR Baggs Session VTC pickup for impeccable sound amplification and features like the compound dovetail neck joint and bone nuts ensure superior playability and tone. Despite sharing these high-quality traits, each model retains its unique characteristics.
Classic Acoustics
The J-45 Custom Ebony stands out with its classic round-shouldered dreadnought shape and minimalist design, featuring a solid Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides. The Hummingbird continues its legacy with a square-shoulder dreadnought design, traditional materials, and iconic styling. The SE Songwriter blends vintage and modern with its cutaway dreadnought body and hand-scalloped X bracing. The SJ-200, the "King of the Flat-tops," presents a grand scale of luxury with its super jumbo size and exquisite maple detailing.
