Ibanez Goes Super Saiyan With Epic DBZ Guitars

The worlds of face-melting guitar solos and planet-destroying martial arts are finally colliding. Ibanez is celebrating its Japanese heritage by teaming up with the legendary anime franchise Dragon Ball Z for a massive collection of instruments and accessories.

This follows yesterday's news of the Fender Pokémon 30th Anniversary Pocket Monsters Strat and Tele.

If you’re looking to shred at speeds over 9,000 BPM or just want an overdrive pedal that glows like a magical wish-granting orb, this newly announced release has the guitar community entirely losing its mind.

Here is everything you need to channel your inner Z Fighter on stage.

The Son Goku RG Electric Guitar

Wrapped in a Gi-inspired bright orange colorway, this RG model is built for rapid-fire, tournament-level shredding thanks to its notoriously fast Super Wizard Neck.

It features a versatile HSH pickup configuration, gold Gotoh tuners, and a gold Edge Tremolo system perfect for dive-bombing your enemies. A sleek Son Goku motif decorates the black pickguard, and it ships in a premium hardcase loaded with collector's loot: a custom strap, exclusive badges, and a certificate of authenticity.

Super Saiyan Son Goku S-Type

If the base-form RG isn't aggressive enough, the S-Type captures Goku’s legendary Super Saiyan awakening in full-body artwork.

Stripped down for pure, unadulterated power, this guitar relies on a single humbucker—complete with a custom dragon etching—and a rock-solid T106 hardtail bridge. It’s the ultimate plug-in-and-destroy weapon, requiring zero multi-episode charge-ups to unleash a heavy riff.

The Vegeta Bass

The Prince of All Saiyans finally gets the low-end respect he deserves. Arguably the sleekest instrument of the trio, the Vegeta bass boasts a lightning-fast slim neck, a reliable B10 bridge, and a punchy single humbucker perfectly voiced for angry slapping.

The DBZ Tube Screamer TS808

The absolute crown jewel of the collection is the legendary Tube Screamer overdrive pedal, now given a subtle but brilliant Dragon Ball makeover.

It features the classic green chassis but swaps the standard text for the official Dragon Ball Z font. The absolute best touch? The standard power indicator is replaced by a glowing one-star Dragon Ball LED light, flanked by custom side decals.

The Namekian Hero: Piccolo Guitar

Ibanez simply could not release a DBZ collection without including a piccolo guitar. It is a mandatory, brilliant pun brought to life, offering a higher-register snap for players wanting to blast out some Special Beam Cannon-level melodies.

The Father-Son Kamehameha Ukulele

For those acoustic campfire training arcs, Ibanez included a concert-sized ukulele draped in emotional father-and-son artwork featuring Goku and Gohan.

The Capsule Corp Supply Drop

The collection is padded out with a soft gig bag, a custom guitar strap, an exclusive pick set, and a line of graphic T-shirts. Sadly, this lineup has completely dashed early hopes for a Frieza-coded seven-string.

In classic Dragon Ball Z fashion, Ibanez has left us on a brutal cliffhanger. The full collection won't officially roll out to distributors until 2027, which gives you plenty of time to practice your gravity chamber sweeps before the drop.
