Instead, it’s designed to deliver versatile, authentic sound for amp modelers and compact amp-simulation pedals by providing the tonal equivalent of running a digital rig through classic, guitar-voiced speakers.
This unique functionality is achieved through Line 6's patented speaker voicing technology, allowing the physical 12-inch driver(s) to adopt the sonic characteristics of six iconic speaker models.

The central innovation of the Powercab CL is its six-way rotary dial, which selects between six finely tuned virtual speaker emulations. These voicings interact with the custom-loaded physical speaker, translating the digital signal into a real-world amp feel. The modeled classics include:

Users have access to six factory IRs and six user-loadable slots. MIDI input and a USB port allow for firmware updates and easy IR management via the dedicated Powercab CL IR Loader app. When running direct, the speaker voicings and EQ can be bypassed.
