Charlie Starr's Gibson Les Paul Junior

Blackberry Smoke frontman Charlie Starr is getting his signature guitar – a Les Paul Junior modelled after his heavily-modded 1956 favourite.

Two Sleek Finishes

The soon-to-be-released guitar has two finishes: stealthy satin nitro flat black and a beautiful walnut. Both options capture the classic minimalism of the 1950s design with a touch of contemporary flair.

Classic P-90 Tone with Modern Playability

Starr is known for his love of the Les Paul Junior's single P-90 pickup, and his signature model stays true to that sound. It also features several upgrades for modern players, including a compensated saddle bridge for improved intonation and Grover tuners for smooth tuning.

A Match Made in Guitar Heaven

Starr's original 1956 Junior has a fascinating history. In the early 1990s, he found it in a small Atlanta guitar shop and was blown away by its tone and playability. The guitar had previously belonged to Rick Richards of the Georgia Satellites, one of Starr's musical heroes.

The Legacy Continues

The neck profile of the new signature model is based on Starr's original guitar, ensuring a familiar and comfortable playing experience. This signature axe isn't just a flashy endorsement deal – it's a tribute to Starr's dedication to his craft and the Les Paul Junior's enduring legacy.
