Helrig Box: Wireless Helix Editor
Helrig Box brings wireless Helix editing to your pedalboard via Wi-Fi. Edit presets cable-free on Android, Mac, Windows, or Linux.

Line 6 Helix, HX Stomp, and HX Effects users can finally edit their presets cable-free. The newly unveiled Helrig Box is a small, DIY wireless bridge that allows guitarists to edit their pedal live from an Android tablet, phone, or computer over a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection.
Helrig Box
This looks like an interesting project and one to check out if you like the Line 6 Helix hardware. It caught our eye today, and we figured our readers would, too.
Developed by Yashar, creator of the independent Helrig ecosystem, this compact board sits next to your Line 6 gear on the pedalboard.
Connect it via a standard USB-C cable to stream the pedal's controls to the Helrig app with zero latency, eliminating the need for a tethered connection to your editing device.

The Hardware and Setup
Under the hood, the Helrig Box runs on a Waveshare ESP32-P4-NANO microcontroller. It utilizes ToneRelay—an open-source firmware by Mark Peskett—adapted with a relay-only mode specifically for Helrig.

Building the box is a straightforward DIY process:
- The Board: Requires a Waveshare ESP32-P4-NANO.
- Power Source: Can be powered via a pedalboard USB-C out or a standard power bank.
- Firmware Flashing: Users can flash the board directly from a Chrome or Edge browser on a computer via the Helrig Box installer (mobile flashing is not supported).
- Casing: Free 3D-printable case files are available to download in single- and multi-color variants.

Network Flexibility and Security
Once flashed, the Helrig Box allows users to save up to three different Wi-Fi networks.
This enables seamless transitions from a home studio network to a rehearsal space, or even tethering to a mobile phone hotspot for live gigs without needing a router.
To prevent unauthorized access to your pedal's parameters during a show, initial pairing requires a physical "Boot" button press on the hardware.
Compatibility and Availability
The hardware works flawlessly across the Helrig apps on Android, Mac, Windows, and Linux; iPhone and iPad versions are currently in review for the App Store. Users will need a Helrig Connect or Pro license to interface with the Box.
