Fender has unveiled its all-new, US-made American Professional Classic Series of electric and bass guitars, a range built for serious players who demand reliability, versatility, and performance at the highest level. Blending a vintage-inspired aesthetic with crucial 21st-century player upgrades, this new lineup offers a refreshing “vintage-modded” twist on classic Fender designs, all at a competitive price for US-made instruments.
The series is already hitting stages, having been road-tested by US hardcore titans Turnstile, whose guitarist Pat McCrory praised the instruments’ combination of familiarity and durability in the chaos of a live show.
Retro-Modern Makeover: Key Features & Models
The American Professional Classic Series is defined by its new features and Faded finishes in much-loved Fender colors, giving each guitar a box-fresh, vintage-worn look.
- Coastline Pickups: The heart of the new tone. These vintage-voiced pickups—including Coastline ’57 Stratocaster, Coastline ’63 Telecaster, and Coastline ’65 Jazzmaster models—are engineered to deliver clear, punchy, and articulate sound across all registers.
- Player-Focused Upgrades: Fender has added modern touches to enhance playability and performance. These include a comfortable Modern-‘C’ neck profile with rolled fingerboard edges, a Greasebucket tone system for rolling off high-end without adding mud, and thoughtful hardware like staggered ClassicGear tuners.
- The Lineup: The comprehensive collection features classic and hot-rodded versions of Fender’s most iconic shapes:
- Stratocaster and Stratocaster HSS
- Telecaster and the triple-pickup Hotshot Telecaster
- Offset Guitars (Jazzmaster and Jaguar)
- Bass Guitars (Precision Bass, Jazz Bass, and Mustang Bass)

Built for the Stage: Turnstile Puts the Classics to the Test
The new guitars have been thoroughly tested in the most demanding environment: a high-energy Turnstile concert. Guitarist Pat McCrory, who has been playing the American Professional Classic Strat HSS, emphasized the essential, utilitarian nature of the guitar on the road.
“When you’re in a different place constantly, sometimes the most familiar thing is the guitar that you bring every single night,” says McCrory. “We look for something that sounds the same every time… but also has versatility because spaces change. Having some durability but flexibility is very important.”

The “Perfect Blend of Vintage Charm and Modern Performance”
Fender’s Chief Product Officer, Max Gutnik, underscored the balance of old and new that defines the series.
“The American Professional Classic is all about delivering a great playing experience,” Gutnik stated. “We combined vintage-inspired finishes and hardware with thoughtful upgrades… The result is a guitar that’s easy to play, sounds incredible and adapts to any style or stage.”
Faded Finishes
Finishes like Faded Firemist Gold (on the Stratocaster) and O.G. Butterscotch Blonde (on the Telecaster) reference Fender history, while modern features—such as Mustang saddles on the offsets and slotted Telecaster barrel saddles—ensure rock-solid tuning stability and intonation.
The versatile Stratocaster HSS, for example, is equipped with a Coastline bridge humbucker and Coastline ’57 single-coils, making it equally suited for a blues troubadour or a bomb-throwing hardcore riffer.
