Gretsch has announced the latest additions to its popular Streamliner series, introducing three new limited-edition electric guitars. These models are all distinguished by including a Bigsby vibrato system, promising enhanced tonal versatility and expressive capabilities for players.

Streamliner Series Limited Edition

Designed for the “demanding guitarist,” the new trio comprises the G2622TG Streamliner Center Block Double-Cut with Bigsby, the G2655TG Streamliner Center Block Jr. Double-Cut with Bigsby, and the G2420TG Streamliner Hollow Body with Bigsby.

Center Block

Two new models feature a center block construction, an innovative design element that enhances resonance within the arched maple body. This center block helps to balance the lightweight feel of a hollow-body guitar with a fuller, richer sound while also improving sustain and attack.

Additionally, this construction offers superior feedback rejection, a common concern with traditional hollow-body instruments.

Pearloid Big Block Inlays

All three guitars share several key features, including a comfortable soft C-profile set neck crafted from nato wood, topped with a 12″ radius laurel fingerboard.

The fingerboards have 22 medium jumbo frets and elegant pearloid big block inlays. Hardware appointments include an Adjusto-Matic bridge with a laurel base, perfectly complementing the Bigsby vibratos, and reliable die-cast sealed tuners.

Bigsby Vibrato

While sharing many characteristics, each model possesses unique distinctions. The G2622TG is equipped with a Bigsby B70 vibrato, the G2655TG features a B50, and the G2420TG utilizes a B60. Furthermore, the G2655TG boasts a slightly smaller double-cutaway body, and the G2420TG is a full hollow body design.

Broad’Tron BT-3S Pickups

The guitars are powered by Broad’Tron BT-3S pickups, combining Alnico 5 and Alnico 2 magnets. These pickups are engineered to deliver a balanced EQ profile, offering “stronger mids, tight but full lows, and smooth, clear highs that retain a smooth and musical presence.”

Adding to their versatility, the guitars feature coil-splitting functionality for crisp single-coil tones, a three-way pickup selector switch, and individual Volume, Tone, and Master Volume controls.

This intuitive control layout provides many tonal options without overwhelming the player.

A touch of classic Gretsch style is evident in the sleek G-Arrow control knobs. The guitars are finished with gold hardware, contrasting beautifully with their striking Midnight Sapphire, Riviera Blue, and Cadillac Green finishes.

“The Streamliner Collection revitalizes the best elements from the past and combines them with exciting new features to deliver exceptional performance, sound, and style at an incredible value,” says a representative from Gretsch. “It bursts into the modern era with powerful sound and style, while retaining everything you expect from a Gretsch.”
