Gretsch has announced the arrival of the G6134TG Paisley Penguin, a visually arresting limited edition guitar that blends classic Penguin style with an opulent gold paisley and sparkle finish. This striking instrument is aimed at players seeking a statement piece that not only looks the part but also delivers the renowned “Great Gretsch Sound.”

Paisley Penguin

The “Paisley Penguin,” as it’s being dubbed, features a chambered mahogany body topped with an arched maple construction.

This design is said to enhance the guitar’s harmonic richness and articulation by allowing air to resonate freely within the body. The top is gloriously adorned with a gold edge burst finish over a gold paisley and sparkle design, exuding a vintage elegance that harks back to an era of lavish musical instruments.

TV Jones

Powering this unique guitar is a potent combination of TV Jones pickups. A TV Classic in the neck position promises clean, compressed highs and mids with a controlled low end, while the TV Classic Plus Filter’Tron in the bridge offers a slightly rounded top end and higher output for added attitude. This versatile pairing is designed to cater to a wide range of musical styles.

Players will appreciate the intuitive control layout, featuring individual volume knobs for each pickup, a master no-load tone control, and a master volume with a treble bleed circuit. This setup allows for precise tonal shaping and ensures clarity even at lower volumes.

Beyond its flamboyant finish, the Paisley Penguin boasts a comfortable playing experience. It features a glued-in mahogany neck shaped to a Standard U profile, topped with a 12″ radius ebony fretboard.

Elegant mother-of-pearl Neo Classic Thumbnail inlays provide a subtle yet sophisticated contrast to the guitar’s ornate aesthetic. For enhanced visibility on stage, the fretboard also features Luminlay side dots.

True to its luxurious appearance, the hardware is finished in gold, complementing the overall design.
