Guitarists seeking to capture the iconic, saturated sounds of ’90s desert rock can now harness that power in a compact package. The new Way Huge Smalls Doom Hammer Fuzz has been officially unveiled, promising to deliver a sonic sledgehammer of vintage grit with modern-day clarity and reliability.

Doom Hammer Fuzz

The story behind the Doom Hammer traces back to 1998, when Way Huge founder Jeorge Tripps modified a late-’70s op-amp fuzz for the band Oranger. Tripps’ unique approach focused on creating a fuzz with a tighter low-end and greater stage dependability, a stark contrast to the scooped fuzz pedals common at the time.

These early prototypes became the blueprint for the Doom Hammer, which is engineered to pummel your tone with the same high-desert firepower that defined an era.

Controls

The pedal features intuitive controls for Output, Tone, and Fuzz, allowing players to easily sculpt a range of harmonically rich textures. From a crunchy, clear drive to a full-throttle assault of blooming harmonics and syrupy sustain, the Doom Hammer is built to deliver.

Unlike many vintage fuzzes that can turn to “mush” under the weight of heavy chords, the Doom Hammer’s refined low end and midrange-friendly voicing ensure your riffs remain defined and powerful in any mix. This makes it a versatile tool for a variety of genres, including psych-fuzz, stoner doom, and of course, classic desert rock.
