Jackson has announced the latest addition to its American Series, the Soloist SL2 DX, now featuring a potent pairing of Seymour Duncan pickups. This new series offers five distinct models, each promising a premium heavy-metal experience with a touch of classic Jackson style.
American Series Soloist SL2 DX
While Jackson’s SL2 series is not entirely new, having introduced models with EMG pickups last year, the American Series Soloist SL2 DX marks a significant shift with the inclusion of renowned Seymour Duncan pickups.
These guitars boast a refined aesthetic and are built for players who demand both performance and a killer look.

Premium Build for High-Octane Performance
The five new models in the American Series Soloist SL2 DX share a foundation of quality craftsmanship and materials. These Strat-style metal machines feature an alder body, known for its balanced tone and resonance.
The neck is a fully set maple construction in Jackson’s signature speed-neck format, offering a comfortable and fast-playing experience. The compound radius ebony fingerboard, ranging from 12″ to 16″, provides a comfortable feel for chording near the nut and facilitates effortless shredding higher up the neck.
Corona, California
The iconic Jackson-style inverted mother-of-pearl shark fin inlays add to the visual appeal. These guitars are made in the USA and built at Fender’s factory in Corona, California, ensuring a high quality standard. Each model has Gotoh MG-T locking tuners for precise tuning stability and 24 jumbo frets for effortless playability.

Tremolo Options and Fixed Bridge Models
Some of the models are distinguished by their bridge configuration. The non-HT American Series Soloist SL2 DX models feature a powerful Floyd Rose 1500 locking tremolo system, allowing for expressive pitch bends and dive bombs.
Two other models, identified by the “HT” designation, come equipped with a Hipshot 6-string fixed bridge, offering a more direct and stable feel.
These HT models are also slightly lower priced.

Seymour Duncan Powerhouse
The most significant update in this new series includes Seymour Duncan pickups. All five guitars in the Jackson American Series Soloist SL2 DX are loaded with a dynamic duo: a Seymour Duncan ’59 SH-1N at the neck position and a JB TB-4 at the bridge position.
The ’59 SH-1N delivers a classic, creamy PAF-style clean tone, perfect for articulate passages and vintage-inspired sounds. The JB TB-4 at the bridge provides a high-output, aggressive tone with plenty of sonic might for heavy riffing and searing leads.
Players also have versatile tonal control with a five-way switch and global volume and tone knobs. For those who may not have connected with the previous EMG-equipped SL2 series, these DX models with Seymour Duncan pickups might be the perfect fit.
Pricing and Availability
The Jackson American Series Soloist SL2 DX series offers five distinct models. The three Floyd Rose 1500 Locking Tremolo models are priced slightly higher at $2499 than the HT versions at $2399.
