These guitars are distinct with their single-cutaway design and Seymour Duncan pickups. The lineup includes four exceptional guitars: three x models and one EC-201FT, each showcasing a sleek and efficient design. Key features include a sole bridge humbucker and a single volume control, complemented by a fixed bridge and an angular pickguard.
Sleek
Each model boasts a mahogany body and a three-piece mahogany neck, ensuring durability and premium quality. The 24.75” scale length and 350mm fretboard radius, combined with a 43mm nut width and a thin U-shaped neck, promise a comfortable playing experience.
EC-01FT vs EC-201FT
Fretboard materials vary, with the EC-01FT sporting Macassar ebony and the EC-201FT featuring a stunning roasted jatoba fretboard, known for its bright, clear tones. The EC-01FT includes a set-thru neck, 22 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets, a recessed Tune-O-Matic string-thru bridge, and LTD locking tuners. On the other hand, the EC-201FT features a set neck with similar frets and bridge, but with standard LTD tuners. Both models are adorned with pearloid block inlays.
Seymour Duncan Custom 14
The highlight of these guitars is their single-humbucker setup. The EC-01FT is equipped with the Seymour Duncan Custom 14 pickup, designed specifically for these models, offering a range of sounds from clean chimes to heavy rhythms. The push-pull control on the volume knob allows for a versatile range of tones. The EC-201FT, while featuring an ESP LH-150B pickup, also benefits from the push/pull split feature.
Finish Options
Aesthetically, the EC-01FT is available in three finishes: sleek Black Gloss, warm Vintage Burst, and striking Olympic White. The EC-201FT offers a See-Thru Black Cherry finish or a Classic Black option.
Pricing
Pricing is competitive, with the EC-01FT available for preorder at $1,099 and the more affordable EC-201FT at $499. These guitars are part of ESP’s exciting 2024 range, which includes a unique signature model with Mastodon’s Bill Kelliher.
