Located in the heart of Tokyo’s vibrant indie music district, Fender Cafe Shimokitazawa officially opened its doors on July 3, bringing a unique blend of California coffee culture and rock 'n' roll heritage to Japan.
The launch builds upon the success of the brand’s massive Tokyo flagship retail store opened in 2023, which featured an in-shop cafe. However, this new Shimokitazawa location marks the first time Fender has stepped out with a dedicated, standalone food and beverage experience.

The entire interior aesthetic is directly inspired by one of the most legendary instruments in music history: the 1969 Rosewood Telecaster—a model famously championed by icons like George Harrison and Josh Homme.
"The new store adopts a space design inspired by the 1969 Rosewood Telecaster that has left its name in music history," Fender Japan stated. "Fender combines the spirit of rock and roll with California coffee culture with Japanese sensibilities, craftsmanship, and subtle hospitality."
Every corner of the coffee shop embraces the theme. From sleek, urban plectrum-shaped stools to a stunning, wall-mounted vintage rosewood Telecaster, the cafe seamlessly merges instrument craftsmanship with modern coffee-house chic.
On-Brand Eats: The "Stratocaster Latte" and "Six Strings Burger"
The guitar theme extends heavily into the culinary lineup, offering a clever menu packed with musical puns and signature flavors.
Coffee lovers can order a Stratocaster Rose Latte or a Telecaster Maple Latte, both crafted using the cafe's signature house coffee blend, aptly named First Set. For those looking for a full meal, the kitchen serves up hearty dishes like the Six Strings Burger and Chicken Overdrive Rice.
